Complex societal issues do not have singular word answers. And yet, so much of everything seems to be blamed on ‘the patriarchy’. The pay gap, the orgasm gap, body hair, everything that hurts women, everything that hurts men… everything, everywhere, all of the time… even women’s lack of pockets, I’ve seen blamed on this mysterious oppressor class of men. These guys... They’re everywhere, and always up to no good. So what is a patriarchy? And more importantly, where? For many, it is a system of government or society that advantages men, and disempowers women. A place where our political, legal, institutional and financial structures are rigged in mens’ favour – and men get to play life out on easy mode. But is it true? I mean, have you ever seen a politician even mention (let alone openly advocate) for men and boys? No, neither have I. Strange. In a patriarchy, I’d expect the opposite… What do you think? ~ Source: US Congress https://tinyurl.com/95wvj9up Men’s health in the United States: a national health paradox https://tinyurl.com/2ydxv525 Iraqi War: https://tinyurl.com/etnv6e35 Workplace Death https://tinyurl.com/949jtyz5 Images by Guerrilla Buzz Crypto, Mohammad Alizade, Jon Tyson and David Cain from Unsplash
