The fundamental problem with ‘patriarchy theory’, is nobody really knows what you’re talking about, or agrees on how such a nebulous phenomenon is measured.

Simply put – if such an ominous and omnipresent force is to be “smashed”, then what does that actually look like?

And might it have been smashed, already?

In fact, in many areas such as western health and education, the pendulum has now swung too far the other way, with American men having worse health outcomes than women in every ethnic and socio economic group, and boys being behind in more-or-less every stage of education, at every age, and in every developed country.

So what now?

If boys are further behind in education today, than girls were fifty years ago, is that not a wake up call to the kind of action we need to see next?

Or do we keep on taking away from boys in school, so they can pay the price of their forefathers?

Are we to continue ignoring mens health, and their early death too?

U.S. men now lead in nine of the top ten causes of death; so are we holding out for 10 out of 10, before we declare mission accomplished, and the smashing complete?

So tell me, are these parts of the patriarchy “smashed”?

And if not now, when will they be?

When do we stop?
