I think it’s safe to say that the modern day Republican Party do not have a great track record with women’s rights.
But their latest efforts to stop American women from receiving equal treatment to men, is not quite what you would expect.
I’m talking about the draft.
Yes. In America, all U.S. adult males must enlist for conscription by law, a legal requirement that only men face, but not women.
It is a brutal and antiquated requirement that has led to the deaths of tens of thousands of American men over the past fifty years.
So is it about to change?
And should it?
Should we be treating American women equally to men, and does equal rights also mean equal responsibility too?
Whatever your thoughts, there’s a team of Republican Senators working hard to ensure women are not given these responsibiltiea – the question is, will we listen to then?
