Nobody is born bad, with each of us, male or female, the sum total of all our lived experiences.
We are an endless story of everything; from love to loss, and from trauma to triumph, each shaped by life, our environment, and all those around us.
We understand this when it comes to women; including women who do things that shock us, we learn to look behind even criminal actions, to rightly ask – why?
But for similar men, we so often pretend they are innately bad, and inherently toxic, an original sin, rather than, just like women, the same product, of the same experiences.
And it makes sense, because we assume men cannot experience these formative, traumatic experiences, that lead to men down this road, or if we do, it’s not the same, or if it is, it was some kind of deserved retribution. .
We don’t see the abuse, or the pain, the experiences of violence and neglect, that so often lead to men doing terrible things.
