One of the frustrating things about men and boys advocacy, is how often people talk about these issues without realising it.
For example, 96% of Americans killed by police are men, and 99% of black Americans killed by police in 2020 were men.
Yet, when the world rightly erupted into outrage over the death of George Floyd, I rarely saw ‘gender’, or ‘men’, brought into the discussion at all.
So why do so many refuse to talk about ‘mens issues’, when so many clearly care deeply about them?
Why are we refusing to see the such issues, in all their complex detail?
And is making police brutality a so-called “feminist issue”, actually distracting the world from the problem itself?
What do you think?
