I have no problem with keeping the streets safe for women and girls, but do you know what else I want? The same safety for everyone else. And yet I continually see Government policies, police strategies, public funding and social media awareness campaigns focus entirely on what men can do to make women feel safe. I’ve never seen such a campaign that attempts to address violence as a complete issue – or even much done to protect those most at risk. Last year us Londoners saw the highest number of teen knife crimes on record – but nobody was made aware that every single teen killed was a young black man. They are the group most at risk, and I’ve never been asked what can I do for them? Why not? How many more young black men have be killed before our Mayor @sadiq shows the same commitments to them? ~ ONS Violent Crime Data 2020 https://tinyurl.com/2p9ar4xy ONS Violent Crime Data 2016/16 https://tinyurl.com/2p9ar4xy Images by Julian Myles and David Werbrouck
