Not all men is not only an entirely unproblematic statement, but Id say its a legitimate and much needed voice within the discussion of gender equality.
No.
It is not fair that the identity of men is hijacked by a violent and problematic few, and it is not right to smear the whole, with the actions of this minority.
Neither is it fair to do the same to women, or any demographic group for that matter.
Yes, whilst you are entitled to dislike certain men, or indeed certain women, who have harmed you, none of that entitles you to class hatred.
Because men are not the enemy.
And women are not the enemy.
The enemy are those who attempt to pit one against another, on both sides, and who do not speak for us.
So yes –
We must keep on saying not all men, again, and again, until the rest of society is comfortable saying so too.
So lets be clear – its not all men.
