Uh oh. Don’t say it. It’s the dirty, dangerous and forbidden word of ‘Mens Rights’. It comes with so much stigma, so much fear and apprehension – seemingly from everywhere, but also… from nowhere at all? So many times I’ve asked, inquired and tried to discuss why… why the hostility toward it? And every time I do, it only leads to more outrage, more anger, more rosy cheeks, spittle and…well… no real answer. I’m bored of it. The crossed arms, fiery eyes and hostility, that is so often sat across the table from me. The silly expletives thrown into my inbox, and annoying whispers behind my back. The outrageous final words of women I previously dated, whose bags I packed for them, and promptly waved goodbye. So I ask you – why? Are discussions around male victims of abuse, homeless and the addicted, so unpalatable? Is legal, academic and social reform really so outrageous? Are the broken hearted fathers that repulsive? Well not to me. Because I call them what they are – human rights. Because that’s what men are, remember? ~ Source: The Independent https://tinyurl.com/5n7ttced The Children Act https://tinyurl.com/87rcjmmk The Guardian https://tinyurl.com/hc36vyyn The Sexual Offences Act https://tinyurl.com/8cnnh8xf Images by Geronimo Giqueaux, Katya Ross, Matthew Mcbrayer, Rene Bohmer, Sam Balye from Unsplash and Fathers4Justice.
