I never said this content was easy. I never said it would be popular – I only said it would be useful. And with hope; productive, evidenced and enlightening. Really @thetinmen is the political equivalent of eating your fruit and veg; in a land of sugar, spice and everything nice. To forgo the big n’ easy pat on the back, in exchange for finger pointing condemnation. Because sadly, in politics – there is a thick red line that divides ‘things that feel right’, from ‘things that are right’. Yup. Something that feels good to say, is not always backed up by evidence. Shocker. Sometimes what we thought we knew, is completely wrong, and admitting so requires courage. These difficult conversations, and uncomfortable truths that stack up in front of us are not getting easier to overcome. And so minds needs to be changed, knowledge widened, compassion deepened, and for some, painful beds of nails to be laid upon. But are we willing to do it? In a world of self aggrandised virtue – who will grab the nettle, rock the boat, and say what sounds wrong, but is actually correct?
