It’s times like this where I feel truly lost, as seemingly it is not just acceptable to body shame men, but something to be applauded. ‘Neckbeard’, ‘short guy syndrome’, ‘fat basement dweller’, and ‘small d*ck energy’, are all part of a plethora of nastiness intended to specifically shame and humiliate men. To shame men for their body. To shame them for their lack of social skills. For their perceived sexual inactivity. For their height, their dick size, weight or hair line. It’s truly bizarre. I see so many feminist pages (rightly) call out those who sl*t shame women; and then without missing a beat, they do the exact inverse by using ‘Incel’ as a pejorative for a man. Need I remind you, that a man’s worth is not dependent on his ability to have sex, just like a woman’s isn’t. But people are so enamoured with their own voice, and by being the hero of their own story, that their own blatant hypocrisy bounces off their thicks skulls, like a ping pong ball off of a boulder. And now the conversation is happening all over again. With Greta Thunberg responding to Andrew Tate with the same old nonsense – ‘small d*ck energy.’ Yawn. An insult that explicitly ties the idea of someone being a bad person, or insecure, or loathsome, or a loser, to having a small penis. Of course we have the opposite and equally pathetic concept too. Where highly admirable traits are called ‘big dick energy’, with the same old stupid words, coming from the same old stupid faces. I don’t understand. Perhaps these people think that men don’t have the same insecurities as women? Perhaps they deserve it? Perhaps they just don’t care? What exactly am I missing here? You don’t need to look far to find harsh but fair criticism of Tate; so perhaps start with his character, rather than his body? Imagine tying a woman’s value to the size or shape of her vagina, and getting the applause of four million people. So do better Greta. ~ Sources – International OCD Foundation Daniel & Bridges Images by Sam Burriss from Unsplash #gretathunberg #greta #bodypositivity #bodyshaming #bodyshamingiswrong #andrewtatearrested
