What two consenting adults do in the privacy of their home, is none of my business. Such a belief has seen me able to navigate and weather many a political discussion; as such a belief in ‘choice’, underpins everything from my thoughts on women’s autonomy, to gay rights, and sex work. However – I struggle to repeat and uphold such a philosophy within the emerging area of ‘findom’ and ‘paypigs’. What the hell are they? Well – paypigs (usually men), are those being ‘financially dominated’ by someone else, a stranger, who is usually a woman. These “pigs” send these women “goddesses” money, repeatedly and relentlessly for nothing in return; other than humiliation, degradation, insults, and shaming. “Is that it? Pathetic” “Ew gross, no wonder nobody wants to fuck you” “This is shit, I can’t buy anything with this! Send more” And the paypigs do. Often thousands of pounds more, and like all addictions, it can destroy relationships, family, friends, and entire lives, in the process. So what is to be said about the pigs? Are we comfortable with such people monetising, exploiting and even abusing men’s insecurities, and antagonising their culturally ingrained need to provide? Are these men really consenting; or are they mentally unwell, are they vulnerable, lonely, and in need of support? Is this the ugly(er) side of all this bro-talk of money, wealth and Bugattis; and will anyone do anything to stop it? What do you think about the pay pigs?
