Again and again we hear how women are punished, judged and degraded for having “too much” sex. We call it - “Sl*t shaming”. And the great debate is everywhere… garish Insta-posts, soap box rants, and boring blogs. The online world is awash with talk of ‘numbers’, notched bedposts, and tall tales of sexual conquest. Bombastic podcast bros and sassy finger snapping boss-bitches berate one another, with tiresome catch phrases, bizarre and untrue stories of warped sexual anatomy, and longwinded equations of ‘sexual market value’. Around and around the stupidity swirls. The alpha male misogynists yell into the microphones. The judgmental tradcon wives scoff and scowl. The rad fems spin on their poles, with hip poppin’ “yasss queen” aplomb. It’s boring. Whilst for those of us who are not terminally online, and who live in the actual world, the question deserves a real answer. So… let’s find out… Do we judge men and women differently, for the amount of sex they’ve had? Are womens’ sexual conquests actually judged more harshly? Or is the truth more complicated, and perhaps more optimistic than what we’re told? What do you think? ~ Images by Vinicius Amnx, Womaniser Toys, Alexander Nikitenko, Meg Dam.
