Why Men Take Their Own Lives?

TW: Discussion of male suicide

Men and women are different, and sadly, often choose to take their own lives for different reasons too.

Women are 50% more likely to commit suicide because of mental health issues, with most suicide prevention designed to target this.

But men are not the same as women and have their own unique societal pressures and expectations to deal with.

Men don’t kill themselves because they are ‘toxic’, but because they are simply falling between the cracks of suicide prevention, awareness and public sympathy.

If you are ever going to rethink your usage of ‘toxic masculinity’ as a term, I hope it is now. End the hate, learn and be better.
