Although in the developing world and particularly Africa, it is girls who are left behind in education. The same is not true in much of the West. In fact, both the US and UK have watched boys and young men fall further and further behind in education, year after year, for decades - with no concerted effort to address or close the education gap. A US girl born in 2016 is now 75% more likely to go onto higher education than a boy, are we okay with that?
