Corn Flakes

October 29, 2021

There’s a secret buried within every bowl of Corn flakes. A dark past inside every box.

And his name is Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, the cereal’s inventor, who had an insidious obsession with curbing ‘the solitary vice’ of masturbation in American girls and boys.

It was Kellogg who helped popularise circumcision in the US.

Not for cultural, religious or aesthetic reasons, no, he just wanted to stop boys exploring their own sexual gratification – "as the brief pain attending the operation will have a salutary effect upon the mind”, he claimed.

It flies in the face of the origins behind circumcision, which are often unfounded medical benefits, selfish aesthetic preference or deranged religious or cultural obsessions.

For me, I am not anti-circumcision, I am just pro consent, and a baby boy cannot provide it.

It’s really that simple.
