Imagine telling someone, who is most likely to be affected by a problem, that ‘this isn’t about you!’
Imagine calling yourself an advocate, then silencing those most in need of your advocacy.
Honestly, I find it so weird.
‘We care for men too’, I hear.
But right now isn’t the place or the time for that, so join the back of the line and wait your turn.
Going back to the beginning of my journey at @thetinmen, whenever I asked why the discussion of violence so often ignored those most often hurt by it, I was constantly told to make my own post, to go somewhere else and start a discussion of my own.
And I thought, yes I can do that. So I did.
And guess who never followed?
